About the Role:

- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm (sometimes even finishing earlier)
- Daily Pay Rates: Umbrella £238 with Tax perks of  the Construction Industry Scheme 
- Benefits: We provide you with a van, petrol, and power tools + Mileage expenses 

As part of our dynamic housing repairs team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our community. Your primary responsibility will be carrying out specialist fire safety works, including fire stopping and compartmentation, across the borough. You'll make a difference by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while implementing best practices. Operating with professionalism and flexibility, you'll execute your work in accordance with the latest regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Installation of fire doors, following strict manufacturer specifications and UKAS accreditation standards like BM Trada or FIRAS. Aim to fit a minimum of two door leaves or door sets per day.
Conduct fire door inspections using a PDA as part of our fire door maintenance program, performing minor repairs when needed.
Pre-inspect doors, provide accurate measurements and maintain fire door data.
Prepare fire blanks and frames for site assembly and perform lock changes on fire doors throughout the borough.
Construct fire-rated casings and erect partition walls to establish fire-resistant compartmentation in line with Approved Document B 2010.
Install fire signage according to BS 5499-10:2014.
Effectively manage materials, minimize waste, and make appropriate specification choices.
Undertake pre-measuring work to assess project requirements and ensure completion. Handle minor decorative damage during installations with ease.

Key Requirements:

Relevant qualifications such as NVQ2 or City and Guilds in a building-related field, along with at least two years of experience or five years of trade experience.
A valid driver's license is essential, and previous experience in fitting doors is highly desirable.
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, exercise good judgment, demonstrate motivation, and approach problem-solving in a solution-oriented manner.
Flexibility, confidentiality, trustworthiness, and reliability are key attributes.
Experience in installing and repairing fire doors is a significant advantage.
