BI DEVELOPER (FINANCE DIVISION)
£48,000 Plus Benefits £12 Month FTC

As Business Intelligence (BI) developer you will be responsible for building, implementing and supporting Business Intelligence and Analytical solutions. This will involve requirements gathering, logical design, physical design, implementation, testing and deployment. Technologies used will include SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, PowerBI, SharePoint and the advanced analytics stack. This job will be focussed on the implementation of the enterprise wide data warehouse. This will involve designing and developing new data structures including data cubes and data mining structures.

Overview of the role:

  • Working with Principal Intelligence Analyst to drive forward and enable the development and delivery of the system
  • To keep up to date with best practise in business intelligence to drive forward the implementation of any necessary improvements.
  • Ensure that all information and data governance procedures and policies are followed and adhered to.
  • Complete Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Design and develop innovative solutions to problems faced by the organisation.
  • Quality assurance and user acceptance testing by creating test plans and managing the execution of testing
  • Create and help to maintain the resource monitoring framework in SharePoint.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to other IA Team members
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into operational analytical solutions
  • Lead and deliver on projects involving the management of data and development of data reports.


Data Warehouse

  • Design data sources and solutions both physically and logically
  • Create, test, deploy and monitor ETL packages in SSIS and FME.
  • Create and maintain relevant data structures within the data warehouse including a data mining and dimensional structure.
  • Routinely carry out data quality checks and generate automated data quality reports for each data source within the data warehouse
  • Update and maintain the data and solutions dictionary.
  • Develop advanced data matching rules and technologies
  • Investigate and implement data management cloud based solutions
  • Ensure that the data warehouse is maintained on a day to day basis
  • Create and maintain an information governance matrix
  • Ensure that documentation is completed to support all components of the data warehouse


Advanced Analytics Stack

  • Design, develop and maintain data mining structures within the stack
  • Deploy appropriate algorithms across the stack managing the outputs of models
  • Routinely monitor the performance of the advanced analytics stack ensuring the algorithms remain high performing and fit for purpose
  • To keep up to date with the latest developments in advanced analytics and new algorithms


Self Service BI

  • Collect and document customer requirements ensuring that they are translated into viable solutions
  • Design and develop multi-dimensional data cubes
  • Maintain procedures and systems to monitor the use and impact of self-service BI in LBHF.
  • Create and develop SSRS reports when and as required
  • Ensure that appropriate outputs and solutions are integrated with SharePoint.


Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level
  • Appropriate postgraduate qualification
  • Appropriate software training - SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, FME, SharePoint, GIS, Power BI
  • Appropriate programming training - SQL, T-SQL, R, Python


Knowledge & Experience:

  • 2+ years Business Intelligence experience
  • 3+ years of database design or integration experience with SQL Server databases
  • Significant knowledge of SQL Server including SSIS and SSRS
  • Proven experience of designing, developing, and delivering a quality data service including
  • Previous experience of developing BI reports preferably within SSRS
  • Knowledge of SQL and other programming languages
  • Demonstrate large complex data management projects
  • Previous experience of developing and deploying data matching process
  • Extensive knowledge of KIMBALL
  • Experience of successfully managing and delivering projects
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulations and principles relating to data protection
  • Extensive experience managing large and complex Data sets
  • Highly numerate and analytical
