An exciting opportunity has arisen in a West London based city Council!

We are looking for a Parks Project Officer to lead on projects for the council. 

 The purpose of this role: 


•    To project manage a diverse portfolio of capital construction projects from the parks capital programme (and any other designated projects as required) of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. 

•    To be responsible for managing project teams, consultants, contractors, and project related contract procurement and health & safety matters. 

•    To manage all aspects of the projects from start-up and initiation to delivery and project closure. 

•    To ensure that all governance and procurement processes are delivered in accordance with Council procedures.

•    To ensure that all projects are delivered on schedule, on budget and to the required standards. 


Some of the key duties are:



  • To manage a wide portfolio of parks and leisure capital projects as determined by the Parks Manager

  •    To manage and lead project teams including external consultants and contractors. 



  • To plan, manage, and monitor all aspects of the projects from initiation, scoping and specification, to tendering and delivery, through to defects and snagging resolution, final sign off and full project completion.    



  • To be responsible for managing project timescales, quality control procedures and project risks and issues and to be responsible for devising and implementing contingency plans where necessary. 



  •   To control and manage project budgets and to ensure regular monitoring and reporting on expenditure and commitments.   

  • Responsible for preparing business cases, project briefs, contract documents, tender documents and specifications as appropriate.
