The job entails overseeing a team that serves as the initial point of contact for individuals facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The primary goal is to ensure excellent customer service by providing guidance and assistance in accordance with legal obligations outlined in the Housing Act 1996 and other relevant regulations. This involves managing and supporting staff, conducting regular performance evaluations, and facilitating their training and development. Additionally, it includes ensuring appropriate referrals to other services, optimizing efficiency in handling inquiries, and addressing concerns promptly. Direct interaction with the public is also part of the role.

Hourly Pay Rate: £31.98 Umbrella PAYE
Full Time - Monday to Friday 36 Hhours
Duration: Initially 6 Months
Location: Ideally 3-4 days in the office (West London)

Our team diligently applies statute, case law, and best practices outlined in the Homelessness Code of Guidance to each case, making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the achievement or surpassing of set performance targets, promptly addressing any performance shortfalls by working closely with team leaders and managers.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and policies.
Conduct thorough housing options interviews with homeless or at-risk applicants in a person-centred manner.
Determine homeless applications by conducting detailed enquiries, assessing compliance with relevant legislation, guidance, and case law.
Proactively manage and determine a caseload of applications through continuous assessment and review.

Key Knowledge & Skills:
Experience in working with Homelessness, particularly in Part VII of the Housing Act 1996.
Ability to effectively engage with a diverse community client base, developing successful dispute resolution strategies.
Empathy and emotional intelligence with regards to difficult situations.
Strong time management skills, adept at organising workload and managing conflicting priorities.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate records, both in hard copy and computerised systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for presenting information clearly and systematically.
