Project Analyst 6 month FTC) required by a leading local government organisation to work full-time on a specific Recovery and Response programme.  The role will support the day-to-day activity of the Corporate PMO service in supporting and assuring some of the Council’s highest priority projects and programmes of work.  The role will include supporting the effective set-up of projects/ programmes, the coordination of a specific programme, direct technical support to project and programme teams and ensure assurance of activity to SLT and senior officers. The post holder will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who wants to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment where they will get ‘hands-on’ experience of project delivery and cross-organisational exposure to strategy development.

This is a 6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT role, working full time hours – salary circa £40-45,500k pro rata – based in central London – interviews asap

 You will be familiar with the end-to-end project lifecycle and adept at project co-ordination, working with colleagues at different levels of seniority. Perhaps you have delivered projects yourself or managed parts of the project lifecycle. You will certainly be used to project management tools and techniques, as well as structured project management frameworks. You will have a strong focus on outcomes and benefits management, and support the development of monthly reporting practices, dependencies, and plans.  

The ideal candidate will be have Prince2 or Project Management qualifications or equivalent, have PMO and governance experience of multiple programmes and come from a project background.  

Essential requirements:

  • Experience of working in a complex business change environment;
  • Knowledge and experience of one or more of the following:
    • budget and benefits management;
    • assurance, reviews and Gateway Reviews
    • risk and issue management.
    • Programme/project planning background.
    • change control process within a programme/project environment.

  • Relevant professional qualification in Programme or Project Management through one of the recognised professional organisations e.g. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or proven practical experience;
  • Experience of best management practice, along with practical implementation of methods and tools.
