OVERVIEW
As Programme Manager you will be responsible for the coordination, planning and delivery of the curriculum area in line with the council and services priorities, policies and performance framework.

ROLE DUTIES

  • To teach an annually agreed number of hours in line with the needs of the service
  • Responsible for planning the delivery of the curriculum area in a way that complies with national and local requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the effective management of the curriculum areas teaching and learning
  • Lead on the recruitment, selection and support of teaching staff within the curriculum area
  • Ensure that any information that is required for the funding and planning needs are provided in a timely and appropriate way.
  • Ensure that all staff line-managed are working to the highest possible standard and appropriate ensure staff's continuous professional development
  • To contribute to the securing of resources and funding for the curriculum area's provision
  • Seek to ensure the teaching and learning within the curriculum area is of the highest standard and meets the requirements of the Common Inspection Framework
  • Responsible for complying with the policies and services quality improvement strategy including self- assessment, observation of teaching and learning; student recruitment, attendance, retention and success; monitoring and reporting.
  • Ensuring effective recruitment and initial assessment procedures are in place
  • Ensuring appropriate and effective systems are in place for monitoring and reporting learners progress; recording success, including external accreditation; and identifying learner destinations.
  • Responsible for the effective allocation and monitoring of agreed budgets and resources
  • Maintain appropriate links with other professionals and agencies in order to maximise the resourcing, quality and sustainability of the curriculum area

Skills Required
  • A recognised Teaching Qualification at level 4 or above
  • Recent experience in Skills for Life and ESOL programmes
  • Experience of Curriculum Development within ESOL,
  • Functional Skills or Skills for Life
  • Demonstrates a proven track record in managing performance through people within Adult Education or FE Setting
  • Evidence of understanding of the Common Inspection Framework and ability to contribute to quality improvement strategies
