Job Details

Head of Policy and Campaigns (fixed term contract) required by a well-known membership body in central London. You will work at a senior level in strategically leading policy influencing work on a national health agenda, in particular implementation of the health commitments within the long standing NHS plan. 

 

This is a fixed term contract role until April 2022 (possible extension thereafter), paying circa £50-56k pro rata plus excellent benefits – interviews will be via Video Call in early March 2021

 

The successful candidate will be passionate about achieving change and highly skilled in creating and identifying opportunities to influence policy makers and system leaders. You will have a track record of coordinating research and policy development activities to influence stakeholders in the short, medium and long term, and in holding them to account on their commitments.  

 

You will also be responsible for providing high level strategic advice to staff, other elected members and senior staff and various other influencing priorities and activities. A core part of this role is also to maintain a high standard for the quality and credibility of their research and policy analysis.

  

The post-holder will have line management responsibility for 2 staff members and will project manage and lead other team members too. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check.

 

Essential requirements:


  • Postgraduate degree in social sciences, health sciences, economics or similar discipline / equivalent
  • Substantial experience of designing, managing and undertaking research to influence public policy development, including horizon scanning 
  • High level qualitative and quantitative research skills, including knowledge of research-related software programmes and survey tools
  • Line management experience and developing team members
