A local government organisation based in West London is seeking a Land Surveyor to support the team for an initial 3-6 months on a remote basis,
Role: Senior CAD Technician
Location: Offices based in Hammersmith and Fulham area but the role is remote
Rate of pay: £23 per hour PAYE £27 Umbrella
Times: Full-Time
Duration: 3 to 6 months initially
The essence of the Role:
To manage the cad and mapping team to provide an effective and efficient specialist draughting, presentational and data management service for survey, design, implementation and mapping production on behalf of the division, the department, council, residents and stakeholders
Duties of the role:
To manage the overall workload, staffing, financial, and other resources of the CAD and Mapping Team to ensure the most effective use of these resources consistent with Council policy, priorities, and decisions about levels of service to be provided, taking account of any legislative changes
To manage relevant agency and temporary staff when appointed including surveyors and engineers were allocated
To manage the transfer of CAD and survey data into the corporate GIS system and the throughput of specialist draughting and mapping services providing current and consistent Information for the Council
To be responsible for advising the Senior Surveyor (Land, CAD and Mapping) on policy and procedures for the development and improvement of CAD uses throughout the division and the Council.
To ensure that professional standards are followed for all CAD drawing and related presentational work and mapping throughout the division and the Council including maintaining accurate records of CAD drawings, files and related source materials.
To ensure that quality Management procedures are followed in relation to the responsibilities of the post.
To prepare drawings and plans from relevant information, including plotting from surveyor’s field notes and engineer’s design incorporating specific design criteria, relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice etc. requiring the highest standards of design expertise and specialist technical knowledge.
To prepare and organise display material for internal and external exhibitions including production, the layout of exhibitions and supervision of suppliers and specialist contractors.
To prepare all necessary specifications timescale and to meet the client's needs and cost estimates in conjunction with the Senior Surveyor (Land, CAD and Mapping).
Requirements for the role:
Experience within a Local authority will be ideal but not mandatory
Numeracy and the ability to make mathematical calculations
The ability to understand and interpret data
Lateral and logical thinking
Cutting-edge IT skills and confidence with new technology
Problem solving and analysis
This is an urgent role and deadline of Tuesday 3rd May 2022 as we are looking to start as soon as possible
