Key Skills Required:
- In-depth understanding and knowledge of admission agreements and bond arrangements.
- Proven experience collaborating with legal advisors and actuaries.
- Robust knowledge of the LGPS and scheme regulations.
- Strong knowledge of the obligations of employers and the Administering Authority in managing the Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Proficiency in navigating the various LGPS schemes (pre-2008, 2008, and 2014) and their impact on the calculation of scheme member benefits.
- Capability to provide training and advice to scheme employers or their agents regarding LGPS administration.
- Understanding of calculation methods for pensionable CARE pay, whole-time equivalent pensionable pay, and pensionable pay for HMRC Annual Allowance calculations.
- Knowledge of LGPS Discretionary Regulations for employers and their application to public sector bodies.
- Effective communication skills to articulate LGPS regulations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
