WANTED!!!! Rental Income Support Officer. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Revenue Team of a West London Council.
Temporary opportunity
Hourly rate: £19.50 - £25.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of properties to maximise rental income of approximately £70m per annum.
- Operate in a commercial environment to ensure that alongside maximising income, brilliant customer care is provided with the outcomes including contributing to increasing resident satisfaction and sustaining tenancies.
- Work to carry out all relevant operational and legal processes to ensure current tenant housing rental income is maximised in line with statutory regulations, council policy, operational procedures, court pre-action protocol and performance indicators.
- The job purpose includes working with other teams such as the Tenancy Teams and working daily with external organisations such as debt advice agencies, credit unions, Law Centres and Social Care teams.
Requirements: -
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation, the regulatory framework that governs housing, associated case law, Welfare Reforms and the court pre-action protocol
- Experience with income management in a social housing environment
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of welfare benefits policy and legislation
- Experience of making sustainable arrangements for residents to repay rent arrears
- Experience maintaining financial records and IT systems (NORTHGATE)
- Experience of working in a similar environment
- Delivery of outstanding customer service
Educated to A level standard OR NVQ 3 OR with relevant experience.
A housing qualification would be an advantage
