Maintenance Engineer required by a well-established and respected regulatory body based in central London (St James Park / Westminster area). The main purpose of this role is to support the Building Engineer in looking after, maintaining and undertaking activities which enhance our client's building and enable their employees to carry out their day to day duties in a safely maintained and fully working environment. The Maintenance Engineer will be required to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), be involved in the planning and implementation of project works, immediate reactive activities as well as identifying and planning for forward maintenance. You will also be required to engage with and oversee contractors, supplier engagement work effectively with the wider Building Management team.
This post require the postholder to be adept and able to cope with the changing needs of the organisation and react effectively to any building maintenance requirements.
This is a full time, permanent role, working hours 8.30am to 5.00pm (Monday to Friday) - occasional weekend work required, salary up to £33,000 per annum plus excellent benefits. Interviews will be taking place in early November 2019.
Key duties of the Maintenance Engineer:
" Undertake day to day maintenance of court premises, including fixtures and fittings, and providing operational lead regarding building related projects.
" Provide first line telephone/email support to the building users for reactive maintenance requests; to ensure that their requests for assistance are dealt with in a timely fashion. Where works requests cannot be resolved this will be noted to the Building Engineer, verbally or in writing as soon as possible
" Ensure that building services plant and equipment is operating safely, within the system design and parameters and to optimum efficiency.
" Supervise and ensure safe working of appointment contractors, undertaking the necessary administration of site inductions, health and safety compliance, job completion and payment as necessary.
" Support the necessary PPM Schedule including supporting the Building Engineer in maintaining the PPM schedule and forward plan, ensuring that PPM is kept up to date and to advise the Building Engineer in an appropriate time scale of any reactive or life cycle (capital) replacement work necessary.
" To lead on smaller scale approved FM projects and deliver against agreed targets; ensuring that works are delivered on time and within budget. Seeking the best value.
" Where subcontractors are engaged, under the direction of Building Engineer, need to ensure correct site induction process is completed and maybe required to supervise works, with strict adherence to ensuring appropriate Health and Safety compliance.
Applicants will most likely have the following skills / knowledge:
" Conducting planned, reactive and preventative maintenance
" Electrical testing, repair, inspection, fault-finding, wiring and installation
" Machine fitting, breakdowns and maintenance
" Building plant and equipment maintenance
" General building maintenance and taking preventative measures to upkeep a building to a high standard
" Understanding of UK building regulations including Health & Safety legislation
