Internal Communications Officer required by a leading membership body based in the City of London to lead on employee engagement, to assist in developing and implementing an effective internal communications strategy and lead on all areas involving the organisation's intranet.
This is a full time, permanent role, working 35 hours per week, salary will be £37,000 to £43,000 per annum.
Key duties of the Internal Communications Officer:
" Lead the organisation's drive to ensure that it engages effectively with its staff - across the whole organisation - in order to help continuously enhance cross-corporate understanding, employee morale and productivity.
" Play a leading role in embedding the organisation's values and behaviours, in order to help establish a culture that is positive, empowering and enabling.
" Oversee the delivery of effective all-staff briefings, to be held on a bi-monthly basis.
" Coordinate monthly lunch and learn sessions, that help build up staff colleagues' understanding of other parts of the organisation.
" Write the weekly all-staff email briefing, summing up the relevant news from across the organisation.
" Coordinate and ensure the holding of regular departmental meetings, across the organisation.
" Oversee the staff suggestions box process, making sure that all suggestions are considered, and responded to, by SMT.
" Lead on the roll out of the annual staff survey.
" Lead on and attend staff events.
" Coordinate the annual action plan that is put together in response to the latest staff survey results.
" To be the lead member of staff with responsibility for the ongoing development of the intranet.
" To write, commission and edit new content for the intranet, ensuring that new copy is added to the site on a daily basis.
" To work with digital and IT colleagues to ensure that the intranet is as attractive and easy-to-use as possible.
" To monitor web statistics for the intranet site, identify trends, and suggest improvements as a result.
" To work with digital and IT colleagues to ensure that the collaborative tools of the SharePoint CMS are used in order to generate greater collaboration between staff.
" Significant experience as an external or internal communications manager or officer, or as an equivalent post-holder in a national press office or as a journalist.
" Experience of proactively generating effective internal and/or external messaging, or equivalent messaging in a press office or newsroom setting.
" Excellent news sense and ability to identify positive storylines.
