Temporary Team Assistant required by a leading and famous charity in central London. You will join a fantastic team that provides volunteering advice and assistance to internal staff and existing volunteers across the UK. The post holder will act as part of the team to administer activities relating to volunteering good practice throughout the volunteer journey, with a specific focus on recruitment and retention of volunteers. Additionally, the post holder will act as a first point of contact for all volunteer enquiries, providing a welcoming, informative and professional service.

This is a TEMPORARY ROLE ongoing for circa 26 weeks – paying £9.50 to £10.00 per hour – this role can be a mix of both remote and office based working (high degree of flexibility with working arrangements). Offices are based in the City of London (within easy reach of 3-4 mainline train and London Underground stations. Interviews asap and immediate start thereafter.

Duties include:

  • Providing an effective administration service – email, telephone, MS Teams telephony - related to the recruitment, vetting, engagement, retention and offboarding of volunteers, following agreed procedures and standards.
  • Ensuring that volunteer data is accurate and up to date through efficient use of the charity’s central volunteer and supporter database to facilitate the volunteer journey.
  • Creating and analysing management information reports to support the recruitment and retention of volunteering at the charity.
  • Providing an efficient and effective administration service, in respect of the recognition of volunteers for service, meritorious activities and when volunteers leave the organisation.
  • Managing enquiries and any issues relating to volunteering at the charity, signposting and liaising with relevant colleagues as required, escalating issues as appropriate to the Team Leader.
  • Supporting the diversity agenda in all communication and support specific activities to promote diversity within the volunteer community.
