A local government organisation based in West London is seeking a Land Surveyor to support the team for an initial 3-6 months on a remote basis, 

Role: Land Surveyor - CAD
Location: Offices based in Hammersmith and Fulham area but the role is remote
Rate of pay: £23 per hour PAYE £27 Umbrella 
Times: Full-Time
Duration: 3 to 6 months initially

The essence of the Role: 

To provide a specialist Topographical and CAD consultancy collecting and interpreting data about both natural and man-made features including presentational and data management, design, implementation and fully attributable asset data surveys as well as structural monitoring, setting out and measured building surveys on behalf of the Division, the Council, residents and stakeholders.

Duties of the role: 

To be the lead surveyor carrying-out topographical surveys, structural monitoring, levelling,
setting out measured building standards of expertise, using specialist technical knowledge surveys and general data capture to a high stan
To provide a full CAD backup for Highway engineers, supplying drawings both for design and as-builts maintaining the Council’s definitive CAD implementation database and final publishing to the corporate eGIS
To be experienced in the full range of digital equipment including Smart-Station robotic total stations with integrated Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), 3D scanners and High Definition (HD) imagery
To be experienced with specialist Land Survey and AutoCAD software, including downloading data from GNSS/data loggers/field computers, processing, structuring and data formatting
To ensure that output is accurate and meets the appropriate National professional standards.
To prepare all necessary specifications, cost estimates, and timescales and agree on these with the Senior Surveyor (Land Survey, CAD & Mapping) and the client.
To ensure all information based on or reproduced from Ordnance Survey mapping, displays the appropriate copyright and acknowledgement information, and liaise with the Senior Land Surveyor (Land, CAD and Mapping) and Authority Liaison Officer on matters relating to Public Sector Geospatial Agreement (PSGA) and copyright licensing.
To respond to queries in relation to public highways and to carry out investigations, as necessary, with other Departments and external organisations.
Undertake the management of surveys, including site reconnaissance and risk assessments, determining the best practice of working in accordance with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) and undertaken within the framework of a recognised Quality Management System (QMS), reporting to the Senior Surveyor (Land Survey, CAD & Mapping)

Requirements for the role:

Experience within a Local authority will be ideal but not mandatory 
Numeracy and the ability to make mathematical calculations
The ability to understand and interpret data
Lateral and logical thinking
Cutting-edge IT skills and confidence with new technology
Problem solving and analysis
