Media Applications Team Leader required by a world famous educational institute to work within their Learning and Media Applications team. The team are responsible for the Installation, Configuration, Management, Upgrading and Patching of key Learning and Media Applications. They provide Technical 3rd Line support and troubleshooting for all the services whilst working very closely with key stakeholders and operational teams inside and outside of the division.

The Media Applications Team Leader will oversee and manage key media services and operations, as well as also provide second and third line application support to end-users. The Team Leader is also responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the Digital Education Media Application team and the virtual services teams supporting them in the day-to-day service management.

This is a permanent, full time role paying £44 to 48k per annum (plus excellent benefits) and will based in central London.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

" Day-to-day responsibility for ensuring the service operates successfully and will be the person who manages the resolution of incidents and problems and oversees approved technical changes to the service.
" Working understanding of Media Services, the overall technical architecture and components of the service and will work very closely with their Virtual Service Team to maintain availability, reliability, capacity and performance of the service and holding regular team meetings to review these.
" Ensure the service is available, reliable, secure and performing against targets agreed with the Service Owner (SO).
" Be the primary point of contact for technical escalation within the information services team for incidents, queries, ideas or comments regarding the service.
" Provide a significant contribution to test strategies and plans as determined by the information services project framework.
" Supervise (and where applicable carry out) System Integration and performance testing in collaboration with organisational software test and quality function.
" As the person responsible for software robustness, you will lead on all testing and make testing decisions.

Essential requirements:

" Knowledge and experience of working with and supporting media technologies and implications of use within the Higher Education sector.
" Knowledge and understanding of large-scale Lecture Capture solutions such as Echo360, Panopto, MediaSite and/or digital media delivery and content management solutions e.g. Media, Kaltura.
" A broad understanding of IT service management principles and best practice.
" Knowledge of key issues within the Higher Education Sector and appreciation of how these issues drive technology requirements.
" Prior experience of IT system and process planning and/or implementation of media applications or teaching and learning applications to large user bases.
" Understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept through to benefits realisation developed through real-life project experience.
" Hands on knowledge of release management and system upgrade projects.
" Advanced knowledge and experience of application software design including the design of multi-tier solutions, data structures, security, user interfaces and web services.
