About the Role

Our much respected and long established client are looking for a Procurement Coordinator to join their successful business for a 12 month Fix Term Contract. This is a very busy role, which requires someone to be flexible, have great communication skills coupled with the ability to multi-task.

As Procurement Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the management of the procurement activities including responding to procurement queries from employee and managers and offering support in the use of procurement systems and processes. Maintaining procurement policies and guidance documents.

You will be researching and sourcing new products and suppliers. Issuing requests for quotes, analysing and negotiating best terms. Reviewing documents submitted by buyers for prospective tenders and support with the development of standard reports and analytics.

You will be able to carry out duties which require strict confidentiality, high attention to detail and will be confident in dealing with customers and colleagues, of all levels, from across the business. They will be well versed in prioritising their workload to meet conflicting demands on their time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that a robust procurement process is followed and audit trail maintained for individual department run procurement activities.
  • Take the lead on some lower value procurement.
  • Provide initial/first port of call advice to employees, and managers on all manner of procurement queries, referring complex enquiries to the Procurement Manager
  • Maintain a range of Procurement documentation including guides, policies/templates with guidance from the Procurement Manager
  • Support the Procurement Manager with the development and provision of standard reports and analytics
  • Review documents submitted by buyers for prospective tenders to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Maintain contract database
  • Support staff in the use of procurement systems and processes
  • Maintain professional relationships with external participants in the procurement process. This will include suppliers and external panel members.
  • Assist the procurement Manager in any other tasks that may arise as required

Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience within procurement
  • Ability to multi task
  • Efficient and organised
  • Excellent numeracy and written skills
  • Ability to use your own initiative, as well as a strong team player
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
