A leading membership organisation and regulatory body (within the medical field) in the heart of London's City are looking for a Head of Quality and Accreditation to oversee the successful delivery of a group of national programmes that focus on improving quality in health services across the UK network. The post holder will assist in the management and improvement of the work of the entire directorate by working closely with the senior leads and heads of departments.
This is a permanent role, working 35 hours per week, paying £52,000 per annum + excellent benefits - interviews for this role will be taking place in late July 2019
Core duties of the Head of Quality and Accreditation include:
" Support the programme managers to deliver work on time, within budget and to a high standard.
" Provide training, support, supervision, appraisals and coaching to the programme managers
" Attend regular meetings with senior leads and managers to make decisions regarding the management and development of the directorate
" Work with the programme managers, project teams and other stakeholders to ensure that the methods used for collecting, analysing and reporting data are effective.
" Ensure that publications, reports, webpages and other communication outputs are engaging, relevant and of a high standard.
" Represent and promote the directorate through high level meetings and collaborative working with bodies such as the NHS, NICE, the CQC, other medical, professional and regulatory bodies, the voluntary sector and funders.
" Develop plans to market the work of the directorate and grow the membership of the networks.
" Attend and lead site visits to health services to assess the quality of care being provided.
" Ensure effective patient and carer involvement across the programme of work.
" Ensure that health services taking part in the programmes are provided with guidance, training and networking opportunities to learn about Quality Improvement (QI) methods.
" Support staff to use QI to enhance the work of the centre.
" Support the Chairs of the Combined Committee to ensure that accreditation processes are robust, consistent, fair and transparent.
" Identify opportunities for expanding the work and impact of the directorate and take positive action to make this happen.
" Ensure strong financial management is in place and have a strategy to ensure that projects remain financially viable in the event of reduced income.
" Design and deliver presentations, workshops, training sessions and national events.
" Deputise for other heads of department and the Senior Associate Director where required.
" Attend regular meetings with other senior managers to support and influence the work of the wider organisation.
" Regularly travel across the UK to visit health services and attend meetings. Overnight stays may be required for some visits and a certain level of flexibility is needed at periods of increased workload.
Essential requirements of the Head of Quality and Accreditation include:
" A keen interest in heath or social care
" Strong management experience within a health quality organisation, public sector services, or similar.
" Experience of working with health or social care services.
" Experience of conducting clinical audit/quality improvement.
" Well organised with ability to prioritise own workload.
" Budget management experience.
" Excellent organisation, management, leadership and people management skills.
" Project management experience and ability to coordinate and manage programme of work.
" Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
" Experience of managing a team and conducting staff appraisals.
" Excellent knowledge of MS office packages.
" Knowledge of statistics and managing large electronic databases and controlling data quality.
