A fantastic opportunity has risen for a skilled Business Development Manager to join a dynamic, quirky and vibrant Events Space Provider, based in the heart of London. They

This is a full-time permanent role paying £27,000- £30,000 per annum + OTE : £10K- £20K, other info to be discussed at short list stage.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for proactively developing relationships and winning new business as well as working with the head of business development to drive forward new business strategy.

Key duties:

  • To proactively develop relationships and win new business from corporate clients, growing revenue
  • To develop partnerships with Event Agencies
  • To work with the Head of Business Development in driving forward the new business strategy
  • To identify and proactively source key new event leads in conjunction with the Sales Strategy
  • To pay close attention to business and industry trends, using this knowledge to proactively seek new pieces of business from industry intel, competitors, publications and other avenues
  • To recommend and manage online and face to face marketing platforms, campaigns and strategic partnerships to ensure lead generation and maximum return on investment, working alongside the Head of Business Development, Commercial Director and Creative Director
  • To represent the venue externally, increasing the profile of the venue at key industry events, both domestically and overseas
  • To use an innovative approach to proactively sell The Venue, demonstrating new ways to attract and develop contacts and secure business from both the domestic and overseas market
  • To be fully coherent with the Sales Strategy and attend monthly data analysis meetings
  • To be prepared to travel within the UK and overseas to develop relationships, win business and promote the brand
  • To report on proactive activity on a fortnightly basis with updates of appointments, new leads, opportunities and competitor intelligence
  • To work with the Event Sales Team on individual sales projects to assist with the development and growth of the business
The ideal candidate will have passion and drive for the events industry and have proactive sales experience with proven result. They will be knowledgeable about the industry and must be able to create/win new business on their own initiative. They must buy into the brand and ethos of the venue and be looking to develop within the business for a good period of time

The Business Development Manager will most likely have/be:
  • Proven successful sales experience (open to background but preferred is hospitality)
  • Hotel or venue sales experience/ sponsorship sales
  • Proven experience
  • Confident self-starter
  • Sound industry knowledge
  • Highly Motivated
  • Possess excellent sales skills with a proven track record of exceeding targets
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Experienced within the events industry
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
