Exciting opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join a well-established family run organisation based in North London.  You will be working in a small team and will be responsible for all payroll related enquires. This is a full-time permanent role paying £25,000 per annum!

Key duties:

  • Running weekly and monthly payroll (100 temps a week and 40 people monthly
  • Checking people's hours
  • Making the monthly payments on time Working out tax and national insurance deductions
  • Setting up new members of staff
  • Calculating overtime Issuing tax forms (P45s for example)
  • Managing special situations like maternity or sickness pay Processing weekly and monthly timesheets
The Payroll Assistant will most likely have/be:
  • Proven Payroll experience
  • Experience/Knowledge of SAGE A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including detailed spreadsheets), Word and Outlook is required 
  • Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and an ability to place work into the bigger context of HR/payroll best practice and the business is essential 
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to communicate clearly and in a professional, courteous manner both verbally and in writing 
  • Maintaining the strictest levels of confidentiality at all times 
  • Excellent time management skills and multi-tasking are required to ensure strict deadlines are met 
  • Ability to work as part of a team is essential, sharing knowledge/advising colleagues and offering assistance to others
